I really should be lesson planning, as it's my first hour long lesson tomorrow (on the third conditional, hmmm). If I had studied French, I would have worked in Paris, that sort of thing.

Instead though, I've been watching old Eastenders videos on YouTube (Sonia giving birth, Kat telling Zoe she's her Mum), and am now watching X Factor. By the time I get back to England it'll be the boring part of the X Factor where they just sing every week. I like auditions and boot camp.

I've applied for a few more jobs today, all in Spain. Fingers crossed.

The whole thing with Ieva and her boyfriend came to an unpleasant head last night. It was rather dramatic, with tears and threats to call the police. It wasn't nice. But they left in the end, although all of his stuff is still here so presumably he'll be back.

It's become rather chilly the last few days. Not coat weather yet, but definitely cardigan and scarf.

I haven't made my mind up about the job in Ankara yet. I think I should accept it, but it's such a big decision. Meridith, an American girl who I live with, is also applying to the same school. It would be great if we could work and live together, as one of the things I'm concerned about is being lonely.
Current Location: Brooklyn

Well I'm busy working away on assignment number 3. I have to choose an authentic text and create a lesson based upon it. I chose to do my lesson on internet dating, and chose three profiles from OKcupid. I hope I don't have to resubmit this assignment. I don't think I'm a good student. I'm not disciplined enough, and I keep getting distracted by the internet.

This has been an extremely boring weekend. It's been raining most of the time, although it's stopped now. I'd like to go out later, but just don't fancy it on my own. I'm running short of money as well. I want to keep as much money as possible for the last week, as I have to pay for a hostel and a new metro card, and hopefully entertainment.

I don't know what to do after the CELTA. The best option financially looks like South Korea. Schools there would pay for my flight, and give me an apartment, AND I'd make enough to save a few hundred pounds each month at least. But you have to have a one year contract, and I just don't feel that excited about Korea. Turkey on the other hand, is somewhere I would like to try living. I've been there before so I'm somewhat familiar with it, and it would be quite easy to get work there, from what I've heard. The idea of being in somewhere so far away like Korea, is a bit worrying for me. I like the idea of being somewhere accessible, with cheap flights to get back to the UK if I needed to. Easyjet flies to Istanbul for around £50 one way in November. I have this vague plan of flying out there for a few days, staying in a hostel (they have dorm rooms for £5 a night and privates for £15), and trying to land myself a job. At least see what it's like there and what the job market is like.

I am so so so tired. I'm not used to getting up early every day and having to study hard. I got my first assignment back today, was very pleased to have passed. I didn't really put that much work into it. I still have three more assignments due, one on Friday and another on Monday. And I have to teach on Friday.

I've learned so much since starting the CELTA though. It's amazing that I taught in Poland for four months and yet I've learned more in the last eight days.

I must sleep. And stop browsing recruitment websites.

Just had 2 glasses of wine for the chief reporter's leaving drinks. Feeling a bit tipsy :-oops

Was in court all morning. Boooooring. The only decent case will not be sentence for 3 weeks so I can't really write it up.

Going to find out about joining union. Sod the cost. I don't want to be sacked, I know I am better than that.

I've taken a couple of people off my friends list, it's generally people who haven't posted for ages anyway and I presume they don't come on here any more.

But if you want to come back on, just leave a comment.

By the way, does anyone know if concrete_angel (Simone) is okay?

Woo hoo, press trip. If I am leaving, I am making the most of the opportunities and have organised my own weekend in Liverpool in April, staying at the Malmaison. Hurray. I've only been to Liverpool once, on a night out when I was 18 so it will be nice to see it properly.

The woman from the press office is going to sort me out with an itinerary and a meal out. I may moan about this job but there are some things I will miss.

Next week, I will be in Cambridge and London. I am going on a tour of the BBC television centre in White City. Not sure what else I will do with my time, there is so much to do in London that I'm sure I can occupy myself. Science museum is calling...although it's not that much fun alone and everyone is working.

Just been to the most inane meeting. Two hours of pointlessness. Didn't get a lunch break. FFS.

I hope and pray my phone is sitting waiting for me when I go home but no doubt it will either not be there, or I'll have one of those stupid postcards from Royal Mail telling me to go to the main office, despite my bike not working. ARFHGGHGHJHHJ~HJKJKLJKLJKL

11:50 am - Scotland
I know some people who read this either live or study in Scotland, I'm after some help please.

I'm planning on going there for a few days/week at the end of July as I've found cheap train tickets and never been there before.

The tickets are to Edinburgh. I have a friend in Glasgow who I would like to meet. I'd also like to see some beautiful countryside. And I don't have much money. How's public transport, especially in the more remote areas? What about hostels? Stuff to do/see?

I'll have a look in the library later for some travel books (just discovered a huge bookcase full of books from PR companies) but thought I'd ask here first.
